Book review by Leo Brooklyn
Recently during a prolonged instagram scroll I decided I needed to give my mind the gift of concentration. I needed to read a book. My life long fascination with sex work and sex workers prompted my search that led me to this delightful title by the powerhouse that is Asa Akira. Less than 24 hours later I had finished the book and was feeling blessed by a delightful array of anecdotes from a legend describing her experiences working in the world of porn.
In Insatiable: Porn—A Love Story, Asa Akira recounts with charming bravado what led her to a successful career in erotic entertainment and how she found her true calling in this industry.
She writes: “At the risk of sounding overly dramatic, almost every time I shoot a sex scene, I fall a little bit in love. It’s the only way I can describe it. Not necessarily with my partner, but just in general. With the situation. In love with being watched.”
