Sin´ead O'Dwyer SS25 Everything Opens to Touch

Updated: Oct 7

The perfect blue.

Wildflowers like a spark of colour in idyllic green.

Endless days of summer.

For her LFW Spring-Summer 2025 presentation, Irish designer Sinéad O'Dwyer creates an immersive space interrogating the nature of memory. The collection, titled 'Everything Opens To Touch, is a meditation on experiences of particular emotional intensity—the crush, the palpable connection, the hunger for shared moments—set in a dreamy, hot summer. The memory is interpreted through a range of collaborative media: sound by Witch Trials and Cosha, the latter reading a poem specially commissioned for the collection from author Anastasiia Fedorova, and an experimental film by Sharna Osborne.

The film captures the collection in Copenhagen, where Sinéad O'Dwyer showed her work for the first time as the winner of the Zalando Visionary Award for 2024. The outdoor location of the Opera Park was transformed into a place of seductive escape, with sculptures based on 3D scans of Sinéad's early cast works of artist Jade O'Belle. Captured on multiple cameras, including digital, VHS and 360—the film offers much more than mere documentation, honouring multiple perspectives of Sinéad's models and collaborators, including supermodel Alva Claire and musician Mahalia. Under the direction of Sharna Osborne, the visuals create a space of their own, bending and blurring the recollections, with collages adding a surreal twist to the narrative of infatuation, closeness, intimacy and youthful wanderlust. A car journey, filmed on VHS the day before the show in Copenhagen, is a direct recreation of memory. Like a mini-film within a film, it channels the relaxed and effortless air of hanging out and the romantic energy of driving around as a teenager, full of hunger to see and touch.
